What Simple Stats Pro is
Simple Stats Pro (simplestatspro.com) is a small website and phone app for keeping basic volleyball stats from the bench: kills, attack errors, attempts, assists, serves, blocks and digs. It makes box scores and CSV downloads for matches and seasons. It is run by an individual site owner, not a company, and it is offered as is.
Your account
- You sign in with an email address and a password. A new account must confirm that address before it can add a team or record stats. The confirmation is one message to the address you register, with a link that works once and expires after 24 hours. If you forget the password, you can ask for a reset; that is a separate message to the same address, and the link works once for 30 minutes. No marketing email is sent, and players are never emailed. If confirmation email is not set up, new accounts cannot be created on the website until the owner turns it on. The owner can still create accounts over SSH.
- Two-step sign-in with an authenticator app is optional for coaches.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what is recorded with your account.
- You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live (an adult, or with a parent’s or guardian’s permission).
Plans
New accounts are on the Free plan: 1 team, up to 20 active players per team, 3 matches stored on the website. When a limit is reached, adding more is declined, but nothing you already have is deleted or hidden. There are no paid plans for sale and no payments are taken. If paid plans are offered in the future, they will be optional, explained before anything is charged, and these terms will be updated. Free limits may change; existing stats are kept.
Acceptable use
- Use it to keep stats for teams you coach or help with.
- Don’t try to break into other accounts or the site, overload it, or use it to store anything unlawful.
- The site owner may turn off an account that breaks these rules. Turning an account off signs it out; its stats are not deleted by that step.
Players’ information
Rosters are jersey numbers and, optionally, names. Many players are minors: enter only what you need (a first name or initials is plenty), and only if your club, school or the families are fine with it. Don’t enter contact details, birthdays or other personal information about players.
Privacy: what is stored
- Account: your name, email, when that email was confirmed, a one-way hash of your password (never the password itself), plan, sign-in times, and, if you turn on two-step sign-in, an encrypted authenticator secret and hashed backup codes. Password reset and email confirmation each store only a hash of a random token, not the link itself. A reset token expires after 30 minutes. A confirmation token expires after 24 hours. Each works once.
- Stats: your teams, rosters, matches and every recorded tap, including taps you undid (marked undone).
- Security records: sign-in sessions (only a hash of the cookie), rate-limit counters and an audit log of sign-ins and account changes. IP addresses are stored only as keyed hashes, used to slow down password guessing. Audit records are deleted after about 180 days.
- Cookies: only the ones needed to keep you signed in, protect forms, and show one-time messages. No advertising or analytics cookies, no tracking, and no ads.
- On your phone: the bench app saves taps in the browser’s storage so it works with no signal, then sends them to the website.
Who can see it
Your teams and stats are visible to you when signed in. The site owner can see accounts and their stats on the admin page (to run and support the site) and can see the database itself. Your data is never sold or shared for marketing. The only emails the site sends are the new-account confirmation and, if you ask, the password reset. Each goes only to the address on that account. Delivery uses Brevo (brevo.com) when the site owner has turned that on. Brevo receives that address and that message so it can deliver them. The site does not create a contact list or send newsletters. When email is not set up, those messages are not sent and new website sign-ups stay closed. The site is hosted on a shared web host (DreamHost) and reaches you through Cloudflare’s network, which process it only to run the site.
Keeping or deleting your data
Download CSVs of any match or season whenever you like. Deleting your account (Account page) deletes every team, player, match and stat on the server. Backups kept by the host may hold copies for a limited time. Stats saved on a phone stay there until the app syncs them or you erase them in the app.
No guarantees
Simple Stats Pro is provided as is, without warranties. Keep your own CSV copies of anything important. To the extent the law allows, the site owner isn’t liable for lost data or for decisions made from the stats.
Changes
These terms may be updated; the version date above changes when they do. Using the site after a change means you accept the new version.
